Position Summary: Systems Engineers are responsible for Identity Management, Platform Engineering, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting highly available and secure technology services and processes.
Administering and troubleshooting Windows Server 2019, 2022, K8’s, RHEL, and VMWare. Configuring and troubleshooting core services including DNS, DHCP, GPO, etc.
Working closely with IS Operations and Networking to achieve optimal performance of supported technologies.
Working in tandem with InfoSec to secure all internally and externally facing systems.
Technical leadership of deployment of new, or upgrading existing, server-based software platforms.
Creating and maintaining scripts (PowerShell, PERL, etc.) and scheduled tasks to automate routine tasks and configurations.
Ability to perform triage troubleshooting for all systems as first point of contact with other IT groups.
Some experience with AWS, SQL, Varonis and Citrix preferred.
Participation in periodic weekly 24/7 on-call rotation.
Very strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong ability to create and maintain detailed system documentation. In addition, must be a creative thinker with proven problem-solving ability. Strong interpersonal skills, including demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative flat organization.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred; 5+ years related experience required; experience at a large law firm or professional services organization strongly preferred.
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $170,000-$180,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Davis Polk offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
