Job summary

The Structures Company in Colorado Springs is seeking a Systems Engineer 4 for a 12-month contract in the aerospace and defense sector. The role requires an active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain it.

You will develop and execute assessments, perform system analysis, and support MBSE tools (CAMEO, DOORS, System Architect) with scripting in MATLAB/Python/Java. Experience with modeling and simulation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required.
• U.S. Person as defined by ITAR.
• Bachelor or Master degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in system engineering including systems, design, architecture, integration, requirements, or test.
• Experience with modeling and simulation tools for missile defense or related domains.
• Experience with MBSE tools such as CAMEO, DOORS, System Architect.
• Experience with requirements and architecture development for missile defense systems.
• Preferred: 3+ years of related work experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Preferred: Experience with Agile development and scripting languages like MATLAB, Python, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Supports the development and execution of a comprehensive assessment program for the C2BMC Element of the Ballistic Missile Defense System.
• Evaluates systems under various scenarios and architectures to optimize overall system mission performance.
• Performs analyses to optimize total system of systems and system architecture.
• Develops and maintains analysis tools of varied fidelity including modeling and simulation tools to predict performance against evolving threats.
• Develops, maintains, and improves requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management, and technology readiness assessment processes.
• Defines, schedules, assigns, and executes tasks to monitor integration and checkout activities.
• Supports subject matter experts for integration and test domains, system-specific issues, processes, tools, and regulations.
• Utilizes MBSE tools such as CAMEO, DOORS, System Architect and mathematical modeling to lead trades.
• Develops requirements and architecture in support of missile defense systems.
• Performs system analysis trade studies to define technical concepts and solutions.

Requirements:

• Active Secret Security Clearance required.
• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
• Bachelor or Master of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in system engineering including Systems, Design, Architecture, Integration, Requirements, or Test.
• Experience using analytical, collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with modeling and simulation tools for missile defense or similar domains.
• Experience with MBSE tools such as CAMEO, DOORS, System Architect.
• Experience with requirements and architecture development for missile defense systems.
• Experience in performing system analysis trade studies.
• Preferred: 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: Experience with Agile development processes and scripting languages such as MATLAB, Python, or JAVA for analytical tools.
