Job summary

DataBank Holdings Ltd. in Dallas, TX, seeks a Systems Engineer 3 to manage and optimize core tooling systems, including monitoring, patching, logging, and configuration management.

You will also lead automation tasks using Python and PowerShell and contribute on projects as a senior resource. The role involves supporting IIP projects, developing simple OutSystems applications, and ensuring on-time delivery while providing regular status updates to management.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong Linux/Unix administration experience.
• Working knowledge of database technologies.
• Ability to build reports against large datasets and analyze the data for insights.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and multi-tasking.
• Experience in at least 2 of: Patching, Monitoring, Log management, Configuration Management, Document Management.
• Scripting experience including Python and PowerShell.
• Automation experience including onboarding/offboarding automation.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Kubernetes and Visio experience; Windows admin and disaster recovery a plus.
• SQL query creation proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Slack chats and provide updates for Internal Infrastructure Projects Team (IIP).
• Day-to-day maintenance of core business systems.
• Resolve tickets in the IIP DBOSS queue.
• Manage complex projects and initiatives.
• Provide scripting/Python support for project tasks.
• Scope out work tasks with management to ensure on-time completion.
• Provide regular status updates to management on systems and projects.
• Attend training with System Engineer III/IV on IIP systems.
• Participate in on-call rotation.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Systems Engineer 3 will be responsible for management and optimization of core tooling systems and processes, including but not limited to: Monitoring, Patching, Logging, Configuration management and Document Management. The Systems Engineer 3 will also participate in projects as a lead engineer and automation resource, building simple OutSystems applications and leveraging Python and PowerShell to simplify repeatable tasks.
