Job summary

Captivation Software is seeking a mid-level systems engineer to support mission-focused efforts in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role requires maintaining a Top Secret/SCI clearance, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to travel periodically for field work.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily responsibilities as a mid-level systems engineer
  • Travel up to 3x per year for 7–10 days per trip
  • Develop and document test plans for EMI/EMC testing
  • Draft and issue technical recommendations via formal test reports
  • Define and review system and component performance requirements for E3 program
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support customer mission requirements

Description

Captivation Software is looking for a mid level systems engineer who will assist with daily responsibilities and be able to travel 3x/year for 7-10 days at a time.

Requirements
Security Clearance:
  • Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus four (4) year of systems engineering experience.
  • A High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of general system engineering experience (any Process Area) may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of systems engineering experience.
  • A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for three (3) years of systems engineering experience.
Required Skills:
  • Experience with coding Python and Visual Basic for applications
  • Strong experience in applying RF theoretical and academic knowledge in EMI testing unintended emissions within HF, VHF, and UHF spectrum
  • Familiar with RF tools (network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes) and components (amplifiers, filters, isolators, attenuators, terminators, etc.)
  • Formulating and documenting test plans
  • Draft and issue technical recommendations through formal test reports
  • Specify and/or review system and component technical performance requirements to ensure optimal functionality while meeting E3 noise electric field limit.
  • Collaborate internal and external agency stakeholders to ensure technical support enables the E3 Program and customer mission requirements
Desired Skills:
  • Preferred but not required to have experience in electromagnetic compatibility testing, electromagnetic interference mitigation, and /or antenna calibration.
