Job summary

Nightwing CODEX in the United States seeks a System Engineer (SE) to support mission‑critical needs. This role acts as a scrum master in an Agile environment and contributes to the development of system engineering documents across the lifecycle.

Responsibilities include managing system requirements, aiding documentation, and allocating work to hardware, software, and personnel. A senior level with extensive SE experience is expected and active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline and 14 years of SE experience; 5 years may substitute for a degree.
  • Experience with agile processes, Java, architecture designs, and requirements.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government TS/SCI with polygraph clearance is required.

  • Contribute to development of System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents and Interface Control Documents.
  • Manage system requirements and allocations to hardware, software, facility and personnel components.
  • Coordinate action items from CCBs, design reviews, program reviews and test reviews with cross‑discipline teams.

Job Summary

System Engineer SE at Nightwing CODEX directly supporting mission critical needs. We solve complex and critical problems in partnership with mission customers. Serves as a scrum master in an agile environment following the software development product lifecycle. This position requires traditional SE processes such as contributing to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents. Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s). Support developers in translating technical work into diagrams or other documentation needed. Assist with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components. Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination. Participate in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based upon evaluation of all necessary development and operational considerations. Participate in the development of system engineering documentation, such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.

Basic Qualifications:

Typically requires bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university and Fourteen 14 years’ experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity. Five 5 years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Technologies/skills: Understanding of agile processes, Java, confluence, Jira, SE models, AWS, requirements, architecture designs, clear and concise communications, collaborative working style with internal and external stakeholders. Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

The salary associated with this position $122,000-$253,000 is commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, and demonstrated level of expertise. Compensation will be determined based on these factors to ensure alignment with skills, responsibilities, and market standards.
