Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Naval Architecture, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline.
  • Experience with DoD, Navy, or federal programs is required.
  • 7+ years in DoD/Navy/federal programs; familiarity with US Navy systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide systems engineering support across design, integration, modernization, and delivery of Navy platforms and shipboard systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HM&E and C4I systems and mission equipment.
  • Conduct requirements analysis, interface management, and configuration management activities.
  • Develop and review engineering documentation, technical reports, and system specifications.

Job description

We are seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the PMS 300 Program Office in Washington, DC. Working closely with government stakeholders, shipyards, naval architects, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will support requirements development, systems integration, configuration management, and technical analyses involving HM&E systems, C4I capabilities, and mission equipment. Position/Job Description

In this role, you will provide systems engineering support across the design, integration, construction, modernization, and delivery of U.S. Navy maritime platforms and shipboard systems

General Tasking Description
  • Support various engineering and technical activities throughout the design and construction processes of surface vessels and shipboard equipment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and optimize Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems, Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence (C4I) systems, and mission equipment.
  • Analyze operational requirements and develop technical solutions supporting mission needs.
  • Support detailed design, integration, shipyard construction, and delivery of maritime systems.
  • Conduct requirements analysis, interface management, and configuration management activities.
  • Develop and review engineering documentation, technical reports, and system specifications.
  • Coordinate with government stakeholders, program offices, shipyards, and technical teams.
  • Support Naval Architecture and HM&E systems initiatives as applicable.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and system assessments.
Experience Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience supporting DoD, Navy, or federal government programs.
  • Experience with auxiliary systems integration.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles, requirements management, and technical documentation development.
  • Experience supporting acquisition, sustainment, modernization, or integration efforts for military systems.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with US Navy systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to perform job duties.
  • Experience supporting Commercial Ship Building programs, Military Sealift Command Shipbuilding programs, or Coast Guard ship building programs
  • Experience supporting shipyards.
  • Experience with CAD software programs.
  • Previous detailed design experience.
