The Strategic Division (SD) supports high-reliability organizations including Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, and the Department of Energy (DOE), among others. Our support across our client base is expanding rapidly and encompasses important services, such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, cost estimating, earned value management, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention.

SPA's Strategic Division's Strategic Development Group (SDG) supports critical U.S. government programs providing Systems Engineering support, Systems Safety support and Financial Analysis support. SDG is hiring immediately for a Systems Engineer in the Washington Navy Yard.

Washington D.C. Pay Transparency Range: $115,000 - $150,000.

Responsibilities

The Systems Engineer will provide technical and programmatic systems engineering support to the TRIDENT II missile program within SSP. The Systems Engineer will support the D5 Life Extension 2 (D5LE2) Missile Programmatic Team with various tasks related to schedule management, budget and contract, risk, and cross-branch coordination. The Engineer will directly support Missile Branch program managers and engineers in the development and execution of program schedules, technical solutions, and root cause analysis.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. citizen with DoD security clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain clearance while employed with SPA.
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (preferably engineering, chemistry, physics, math).
  • Ability to work at Washington Navy Yard.
  • 5+ years professional engineering experience on defense programs.
  • Exceptional writing and presentation abilities.
  • Self-motivated with strong work ethic, time management, and interpersonal skills.
Desired Qualifications:
  • U.S. Navy Submarine Officer experience.
  • Experience working with Strategic Systems Programs (SSP).
  • Experience working with DoD engineering and acquisition processes.
