Job summary

SOSi seeks a Systems Engineer to shape the future of Command and Control IT solutions at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam. Lead development and maintenance of enterprise infrastructure and private cloud, coordinating with DoD personnel and delivering executive briefings.

You will ensure compliance with Zero Trust Architecture and Data Centric Security, supporting 5,000+ users across the Pacific theater and advancing mission-critical operations from Honolulu.

Qualifications

  • Active in-scope Top Secret clearance with SCI Eligibility and US Passport is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Information Systems, Cyber Security, Computer Engineering or similar with 4+ years of experience, or 8+ years in enterprise IT DoD environments with security controls.
  • 5+ years of server administration experience; extensive experience with Microsoft or Linux enterprise services (Exchange, Active Directory, DNS/BIND, DHCP, SQL).
  • DoD 8570 IAT-II compliant (Security+ CE, CCNA, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP).
  • Server Administration certification (Microsoft or Linux+) at hire; Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator or RHCSA within 6 months.
  • Experience with DoD secure systems environments and with Hyperconverged Infrastructure (Nutanix preferred).
  • Experience with NSA CSfC including MSCCP and MACP; Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and/or DISA TNE; customer-service oriented; able to work both independently and in distributed teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, design, and roadmap Data Centric Security solutions.
  • Provide technical recommendations and participate in briefings and information sharing with the customer and leadership.
  • Interface with vendors, other agencies, and Coalition Partners for the program.
  • Lead complex technical projects including upgrades and integrations for Enterprise capabilities.
  • Mentor Systems Operations personnel on administration best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems; maintain knowledge of hardware/software.
  • Prepare and review activity reports and AARs; document status via WAR.

SOSi is on the hunt for a forward-thinking Systems Engineer to help shape the future of Command and Control (C2) IT solutions at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam. You’ll be part of a high-impact team supporting over 5,000 users across the Pacific theater, solving complex technical challenges that drive mission-critical operations.

In this role, you’ll lead the charge in developing and maintaining a robust enterprise infrastructure and private cloud platform. You’ll collaborate with senior DoD personnel, deliver executive-level briefings, and ensure compliance with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and Data Centric Security Principles.

Essential Job Duties
  • Assess, design, and roadmap development for the implementation or integration of ZTA solutions.

  • Assess, design, and roadmap development for the implementation or integration of Data Centric Security solutions.

  • Contribute, provide technical recommendations, and attend briefings or information sharing forums, with our customer and the leadership, in support of ZTA initiatives and new capabilities.

  • Interact with vendors, other agencies, and Coalition Partners on behalf of the program.

  • Lead complex technical projects including upgrades, system integrations, and other installations in support of existing Enterprise capabilities.

  • Provide mentorship for Systems Operations personnel in administration principles and best practices.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.

  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.

  • Reviews work efforts/implementations and contribute to analysis, After-Action-Reports (AAR). Regularly collects and summarizes pertinent network-related accomplishments, issues, and concerns. Completes activity reports in accordance with contract requirements.

  • Ensures compliance of custody and ownership of Government equipment and related components.

  • Participates in related solution technologies and special projects, as required.

  • Interface with team leads and team members to collect, develop, document, and submit status updates via a Weekly Activity Report (WAR).

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • An Active in-scope TOP SECRET clearance with SCI Eligibility and US Passport.

  • Bachelors degree in IT, Information Systems, Cyber Security, Computer Engineering or similar and 4+ years of experience, or 8+ years of experience in enterprise IT systems engineering and operations involving complex classified DoD environments and mandatory security controls (e.g., STIGs).

  • 5+ years implementation and support in server administration. Extensive experience with Microsoft or Linux enterprise services portfolio (Exchange, Active Directory, DNS/BIND, DHCP, SQL, etc).

  • DoD 8570 IAT-II compliant (Security+ CE, CCNA, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP).

  • Server Administration (Microsoft or Linux+) certification at hire.

  • Obtain Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator or Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) within 6 months.

  • Prior experience in implementing and supporting DoD secure systems environments.

  • Experience with Hyperconverged Infrastructure (Nutanix preferred).

  • Experience with NSA CSfC requirements including Multi-Site Connectivity Capability Package (MSCCP) and Mobile Access Capability Package (MACP).

  • Experience with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and/or DISA Trusted Network Environment (TNE).

  • Customer-service oriented with a willingness to participate and assist.

  • Able to follow instructions and work both independently and in a (distributed) team environment.

  • Team-player and able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

  • Attention to detail. Excellent planning and time-management skills.

  • Able to support 24/7 operations (including support to exercises), when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator or Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certification.

  • Additional IT certifications in relevant technology platform (e.g., Network+, Citrix, Dell, HPE/Aruba, ITIL, Juniper, Microsoft, Nutanix, Palo Alto, VMware).

  • Experience with Forcepoint/Everfox Trusted Thin Clinent.

  • Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA).

  • Familiarity with VDI/Virtual Environments and solutions (VMware Horizon, Citrix VDI).

  • Familiarity with Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI), Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) and C2 applications.

  • Experience in ITIL framework and best practices (e.g., Change Management, Configuration Management, Capacity Planning).

  • Experience using Help Desk software (e.g., Jira, Remedy, ServiceNow).
