About The Role

We are seeking talented Systems Integration Engineers, at mid-level or senior levels, to join our 787 Systems Integration Engineering team based in North Charleston, South Carolina. This pivotal role involves supporting the design, configuration, certification, and delivery of the 787 aircraft, working within a dynamic and diverse team. The engineer will be instrumental in managing large-scale multisystem projects, from conceptualization through testing, certification, production, and delivery. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain in-depth exposure to the core systems of the 787, including interfaces, change management, and project execution. As part of our team, you will collaborate across various departments, support fleet-wide issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring the aircraft's safety, performance, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or an equivalent qualification recognized internationally. Candidates should have at least five years of experience in complex systems engineering or system integration, with a proven track record of working effectively with cross‑functional teams. Preferred candidates will have extensive experience in the aerospace industry, with a strong understanding of aircraft certification processes and the ability to influence teams outside formal authority. Experience supporting production, manufacturing, and airline customers is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, project management capabilities, and the ability to synthesize complex technical information for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities
  • Support cross-functional teams in developing and integrating large-scale multi-system projects, ensuring seamless operation and interoperability of aircraft systems.
  • Lead efforts with various airplane systems, including Environmental Control Systems, Mechanical Hydraulics, Flight Controls, Electrical Sub-Systems, Network Systems, Avionics, and Cyber Security, guiding teams through complex project phases.
  • Collaborate with safety teams, regulatory agencies, and other program departments such as change management, supply chain, production engineering, manufacturing, operations, and delivery centers to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Implement best practices in systems engineering and identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance project outcomes.
  • Maintain working knowledge of aircraft certification standards and processes to ensure all systems meet regulatory requirements.
  • Lead initiatives through influence, fostering collaboration across teams and external partners.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse engineering teams, synthesizing complex technical data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Present technical and project updates to executive leadership, providing strategic recommendations and status reports.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required to support project activities and stakeholder engagement.
