Job summary

IntelliLink Technologies Inc. is seeking a Workday Financial Management consultant to analyze requirements, design solutions, and configure Workday modules such as GL, AP, AR, and Cash Management. You will lead data conversion efforts, build integrations, and implement security controls in a client environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform requirements analysis and fit-gap assessments for Workday Financial Management.
• Design solutions and create technical design documents and configuration specs.
• Configure Workday Financials modules: GL, AP, AR, Cash Management, Assets, Procurement, Expenses.
• Build and maintain Foundation Data Model with key objects and posting rules.
• Develop integrations between Workday and external systems (banking, tax engines, ERP).
• Lead data conversion activities using ETL, Python, and Alteryx; ensure data accuracy.
• Configure business processes, routing, approvals, and notifications.
• Implement security policies and RBAC aligned with SOX.
• Create advanced reports and dashboards using Workday tools and analytics.
• Develop test strategies, execute tests, and automate validation; support production.
• Provide documentation, training, and stakeholder communication.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Requirements analysis and fit-gap assessment– Analyze client business and functional requirements for financial systems; conduct requirement-gathering workshops with finance and IT stakeholders; perform fit-gap analysis between legacy ERP systems and Workday Financial Management capabilities.
• Solution design and architecture – Translate business requirements into technical design documents, system configuration specifications, and solution architecture using software engineering principles and systems analysis methodologies; evaluate design alternatives and recommend optimal Workday solutions.
• System configuration of Workday Financial Management modules – Configure Workday Financials modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Business Assets, Procurement, and Expenses in alignment with client accounting policies and organizational structures.
• Foundation Data Model (FDM) design and maintenance – Build and maintain the Foundation Data Model, including companies, cost centers, ledger accounts, worktags, custom organizations, and account posting rules to support accurate financial recording and reporting.
• Integration development – Design, develop, and troubleshoot integrations between Workday and external systems (banks, tax engines, procurement platforms, legacy ERPs) using Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Core Connectors, Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs), XML, and XSLT.
• Data conversion and reconciliation – Lead legacy data conversion activities including extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), validation, and reconciliation of financial data using Python scripts and Alteryx workflows for data profiling, cleansing, transformation, and automated reconciliation.
• Business process configuration – Design and configure Workday business process definitions, routing rules, approval workflows, notifications, and condition rules to align with client operational and internal control requirements.
• Security configuration and compliance – Implement domain security policies, business process security, and role-based access controls in accordance with client compliance and SOX requirements.
• Reporting and analytics development – Develop advanced, matrix, and composite reports, dashboards, and financial statements using Workday Report Writer and calculated fields; leverage Workday Prism Analytics for data blending and financial analytics to support management decision-making.
• Testing, quality assurance, and test automation – Develop test strategies, scenarios, and scripts; execute unit, system integration, regression, parallel, and user acceptance testing (UAT); design and build automated testing and data validation utilities using Python and Alteryx to accelerate regression cycles and perform large volume data comparisons; track, manage, and triage defects using JIRA; perform root‑cause analysis and implement fixes prior to deployment.
• Production support and release management– Provide post‑implementation and hypercare support; monitor and resolve production incidents; evaluate Workday's bi‑annual feature releases, perform impact analysis and regression testing, and implement adopted features and enhancements.
• Documentation, training, and stakeholder engagement – Prepare functional and technical design documents, configuration workbooks, integration specifications, and end‑user guides; conduct knowledge transfer and training sessions; communicate project status, risks, and issues to client stakeholders and project leadership.
