Job summary

Varex Imaging is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support database administration, application infrastructure, and enterprise monitoring. You will drive upgrades, automation, and governance across multiple server-hosted applications and CAD/engineering software ecosystems.

The role emphasizes reliability, risk reduction, and scalable technology services, with opportunities to implement AI-driven automation and enterprise tooling across the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or related role.
• Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server environments (performance tuning, backup/recovery, security).
• Proficiency with scripting/automation (PowerShell and/or Python).
• Experience integrating systems via APIs and enterprise automation platforms.
• Experience deploying enterprise applications in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server environments, including performance tuning, backup/recovery, upgrades and access management.
• Own OS and application upgrade projects across 20+ server-hosted applications; coordinate downtime to stay current.
• Contribute to expanding enterprise application monitoring (e.g., Zabbix) as capacity allows.
• Deploy and configure engineering/CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MATLAB, ANSYS, LabVIEW) as needed.
• Establish baseline governance for GitHub and GitLab; build toward fuller policy over time.
• Design automated provisioning workflows for licensing groups; explore AI automation via Copilot Studio.
