AGE Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer to support a DoD customer with storage and backup requirements across on-premises and cloud environments. You will provide engineering and administration support to ensure mission success.

The ideal candidate has 3 years in engineering with storage and backup technologies and DoD IT systems experience. Onsite roles are in Richmond, VA or Tracy, CA with attractive benefits.

Qualifications

• Three years of professional experience in engineering including evaluating, constructing, and integrating enterprise storage and backup software technologies.
• Two years hands-on experience with enterprise SAN management including Fibre Channel zoning, iSCSI, and LUNs.
• Hands-on with enterprise hierarchical storage system management and backup/restore services (NetBackup, Cohesity).
• Two years hands-on experience with DoD IT systems.

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support a DoD customer with storage and backup requirements across multiple on-premises and cloud environments. The selected candidate will provide engineering and administration support.

Responsibilities Include:

• Responsible for effective provisioning, operation, installation/configuration, and maintenance of systems hardware/software/related infrastructure.


• Provides technical support, guidance and hands-on delivery in the planning, implementation, and ongoing operations.


• Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.


• Ensured that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values and regulatory requirements.


• Documents specifications, project plans, configurations, test plans and results.


• Depicts complex ideas, issues, and designs to varied audiences; communicates project objectives, scope and status to project teams.


• Develops, integrates, and oversees storage arrays, fiber switches, backup solutions, and associated components.


• Monitors and reports on existing data restore and disaster recovery capabilities.


• Provides recommendations on process improvement/efficiencies.


• Maintains and oversees data backup solutions to ensure mission objective are met.


• Researches, builds, and implements file sharing technologies to meet customer requirements.


• Troubleshoots and advises on advanced storage issues/deficiencies.


• Performs routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance.


• Performs storage analysis, capacity planning, and performance planning of storage components.


• Authors and reviews operational procedures/documentation in relation to new and existing technologies.


• Authors/documents policies and procedures to support the operational storage environment and participates in the design and ongoing refinement of procedures and policies.


• Prepares reports on storage administration best practices, new technologies, etc., and recommends enhancements and configuration changes to improve and optimize existing storage technologies.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

• Experience:
  
  
  
  • Three (3) years of overall professional experience in the engineering field. This includes evaluating, constructing, and integrating enterprise-level storage and backup software technologies.
  
  
  • Two (2) years hands-on experience with enterprise SAN (Storage Area Network) management to include capabilities and technologies such as: Fiber Channel zoning, iSCSI, FCoE (Fiber Channel over Ethernet) unified fabric, HBA/CNA (Host Bus Adapter/Converged Network Adapter), storage controllers, and LUN (Logical Unit Number), RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks), and file sharing / NAS (Network Addressable Storage).
  
  
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise hierarchical storage system management; operation of enterprise backup/restore services, using software such as Veritas NetBackup, Cohesity Cloud.
  
  
  • Two (2) years hands-on experience working with Department of War (DoW) IT systems.

  • Top Secret Clearance or Secret Clearance with favorably adjudicated Tier 5/SSBI investigation.

  • Must have a compliant DoD 8570 IAT II Certification such as: CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, or GCIH

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications from multiple vendors including Pure, NetApp, Microsoft, AWS, and Google Cloud.

Work Environment and Physical Demand:

• Must be able to work from a computer for extended hours in an office environment and be able to work from comm closets when/as needed.

The projected salary range for this position is $110,000+ annually. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including years of relevant experience, active security clearance level, certifications, technical skillset, contract requirements, and overall qualifications.
