You will develop CONOPS, manage system knowledge, and drive design reviews while interfacing with software and hardware teams. DoD clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelors, masters or PhD in engineering or related technical discipline.
• Progressive engineering experience as specified (6+ yrs with bachelor's, 4+ with master's, 2+ with PhD) or equivalent.
• Must be capable of communicating design and requirements to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop CONOPS with customers, operators, and end users to drive system design and requirements.
• Lead system architecture development for a shared, configuration-managed definition used by multiple teams.
• Serve as focal point for system knowledge and design decisions on programs.
• Ensure interfaces between software and hardware are compliant and manageable.

We have an exciting opportunity in Poway, California for a Systems Engineer with a strong Systems Engineering and Integration background to lead and assist on programs requiring system definition, architecture development, and integration support.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Will work with customers, operators, and end user surrogates to develop Concept of Operations (CONOPS) that lead to detailed system design and requirements.
• Will lead system architecture development building a shared, configuration managed, system definition that will be used by multiple functional groups and stakeholders on internal and customer funded programs.
• Will be the focal point on programs for system knowledge and design decisions.
• Candidate will be expected to have a solid understanding of system, subsystems, and components, as well as all internal/external interfaces.
• Will help design and ensure compliance of interfaces between software and hardware while managing changes, as required.
• Will develop data flows, activity diagrams, or sequence diagrams as appropriate to help define hardware and software systems.
• Will work on a wide range of products from Command/Control to Payloads to Exploitation systems, and work with a wide range of highly talented people from many technical disciplines.

Job Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a masters degree, or two or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
• Must have experience developing/deriving Use Cases.
• Must have experience developing/deriving requirements from Use Cases and System Architecture.
• Must have experience leading or briefing in design reviews, as well as generating content for milestone reviews.
• Must be capable of clearly communicating design and requirements to multiple levels of audiences, including software/hardware teams, team leads, and directors.
• Must have subject matter experience in a relevant technology.
• Experience with system integration of complex systems is desired.
• Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo and Jama is highly desired.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance is required.

Job Type: Full-Time Salary
