You will collaborate with customers, operators, and internal teams to define CONOPS, develop architecture models, and ensure interface integrity across hardware and software.

Qualifications

• Twelve or more years of engineering experience with a bachelor degree.
• Experience developing CONOPS with operators or user surrogates to identify system solutions.
• Experience with modeling tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, or Enterprise Architect.
• SysML modeling experience.
• Experience developing comprehensive system architectures with modeling tools and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Develop CONOPS with customers to drive system design and requirements.
• Lead system architecture development using MBSE across multiple levels.
• Serve as focal point on programs for system knowledge and design decisions.
• Understand subsystems and interfaces within the system.

We have an exciting opportunity in Poway, California for a strong Systems Engineer with a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or DoDAF Architecture Framework background. To lead and assist on programs requiring system definition and model-based architecture development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Will work with customers, operators, and end user surrogates to develop Concept of Operations (CONOPS) that lead to detailed system design and requirements.
• Will lead system architecture development through model-based systems engineering (MBSE) building a shared, configuration managed, architecture model at multiple levels that will be used by multiple functional groups and stakeholders on internal and customer funded programs.
• Will be the focal point on programs for system knowledge and design decisions.
• Candidate will be expected to have a solid understanding of the system, subsystems, and components, as well as all internal/external interfaces.
• Will help design and ensure compliance of interfaces between software and hardware using architecture models as the truth source and managing changes within the models when updates are required.
• Will develop data flows, activity diagrams, or sequence diagrams as appropriate to help define hardware and software systems.
• Will work on a wide range of products from Command/Control to Payloads to Exploitation systems, and work with a wide range of highly talented people from many technical disciplines.

Job Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; twelve or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, ten or more years of experience with a masters degree, or seven or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
• Must have experience developing CONOPS, working closely with operators/users or user surrogates to identify system solutions.
• Must have experience with modeling tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, or Enterprise Architect.
• Desired experience developing models with SysML
• Must have experience developing comprehensive system architectures with modeling tools, enforcing compliance to and configuration management of architecture models
• Must have experience developing/deriving Use Cases
• Must have experience developing/deriving requirements from Use Cases and System Architecture.
• Must be capable of clearly communicating design and requirements to software/hardware teams for software/hardware implementation.
• Must have subject matter experience in a relevant technology.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance is required.

Job Type: Full-Time Salary

Salary range: 116,480 - 208,505
