Independent Living Systems (ILS) is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our IT team in Miami. The role focuses on stability, security, and efficient operation of servers, networks, and computer systems to meet organizational needs.

You will monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, implement upgrades, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT services with business goals and support end-users, ensuring minimal downtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3–5 years experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role managing Windows server environments.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) for automation and task optimization.
• Relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware across servers and network devices.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability of IT services.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to maintain security and compliance standards.
• Perform regular backups, disaster recovery operations, and system updates to safeguard data integrity.
• Collaborate with IT team members and other departments to plan and implement infrastructure improvements and upgrades.

Minimum Qualifications:
