Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, test, and deploy architectures including VMware ESXi infrastructure, Windows domains, and Linux servers. You will develop and design documentation and conduct technical information system security testing to support risk management processes and patch vulnerabilities.

Experience with DoD STIGs, PKI, network diagramming with Visio, and the ability to travel up to 25% is required.

Job description

Systems Engineer The Opportunity:

Design, test, and deploy architectures, including VMWare ESXi infrastructure, Windows domains, and Linux servers. Develop and design documentation and conduct technical information system security testing in support of the appropriate security risk management processes using security assessment and technical testing efforts to identify and patch vulnerabilities to the systems being developed. Install, configure, and troubleshoot applications running on Windows and Linux server operating systems. Demonstrate knowledge of the fundamentals of data center design best practices, rackmount equipment installation and maintenance, cable management, network attached storage, direct attached storage, and storage protocols.

You Have:

• Experience setting up and configuring Linux servers
• Experience building and configuring Windows management services, including SCCM, WSUS, SQL, and Task Flows within SCCM
• Experience hardening Windows servers, Linux servers, and VMWare using Department of Defense (DoD) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
• Knowledge of PKI implementation, including X.509 certificates and certificate authorities
• Ability to accurately depict network diagrams using Microsoft Visio
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

• Experience working in coordination with the commercial mobile industry to assess mobile technologies for the U.S. government
• Experience working in classified spaces to implement solutions
• Experience implementing certificate-based encryption on network devices
• Experience building out and configuring PKI or certificate authority solutions
• Knowledge of CSfC Capability Packages (CPs)
• Ability to independently initiate, manage, execute, and report tasks
• Ability to communicate complex network principles and designs to clients
• VMWare Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified Solution Developer

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
