Job summary

McBride Consulting is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management Division (C3BM) at Hanscom AFB in Bedford, MA. This 100% onsite role focuses on delivering an integrated battlespace network and resilient decision advantages for USAF, USSF, Joint, and Coalition forces.

You will engage across acquisition lifecycles, translate operational requirements into technical solutions, and contribute to architecture development for interoperability.

Qualifications

  • US citizenship is required.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of DoD sector experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide systems engineering support across the acquisition lifecycle (requirements, design, integration, sustainment, disposal).
  • Translate operational/functional requirements into technical solutions for Mission Integration Team (MIT).
  • Contribute to architecture definition for interoperability across the DAF C3BM enterprise.
  • Review DoD architecture models and develop future-state architectures for sensor-to-shooter connectivity.
  • Support risk assessments and collaborate to mitigate technical and programmatic risks.
  • Develop execution management strategies and transition capability requirements for the acquisition community.
  • Support test and evaluation strategy development with acquisition and test organizations.
  • Drive interoperability across Program Executive Offices (PEOs) and weapon systems.
  • Capture/analyze current and future architectures based on missions and engagement scenarios.
  • Engage joint/coalition stakeholders to support multi-domain architectures.
  • Identify, assess, and mature innovative concepts via analysis, modeling, and simulations.
  • Prepare briefs, engineering documentation, reports, and recommendations for Government leadership.

The role focuses on delivering an integrated Department of the Air Force (DAF) Battle Network, ensuring resilient decision advantage and enabling the USAF, USSF, Joint, and Coalition Force to win against evolving challenges. This full‑time position is 100% onsite at Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA, and offers significant professional growth and exposure to high‑impact Air Force programs.

Duties
  • Provide systems engineering support throughout the acquisition lifecycle, including requirements analysis, system design, integration, sustainment, and disposal activities.
  • Support Mission Integration Team (MIT) activities by translating operational and functional requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participate in architecture definition efforts to ensure integration and interoperability across the DAF C3BM enterprise architecture.

Requirements
  • Citizenship: Must be a US citizen.
  • Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain an active Top Secret level clearance and be SCI eligible.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience within the DoD sector.
