Job summary

Intrepid, an SPA Company, invites a Solution-Level Software System Engineer to support the IFMC Project Office. The role involves developing system-level concepts, external interfaces, and performance criteria to guide HW/SW teams, collaborating with contractors, military, and government personnel.

The candidate will model capabilities using MBSE in an Agile environment, produce SIDs/SEDs, and drive reviews, acceptance criteria, and backlog items to ensure mission success.

Qualifications

• Active SECRET clearance required and ongoing maintenance.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field; MBSE experience.
• 10+ years in system engineering or related field.
• Experience with MBSE and model-based workflows.
• Proficiency with MagicDraw, Jira and Confluence.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize capabilities across Program Increments (PI).
• Collaborate with SMEs to understand initiative scope.
• Develop MBSE concepts in an Agile SW environment.
• Create and refine SIDs and SEDs; manage Jira tickets.
• Model capability behavior using MBSE tools.
• Define acceptance criteria and trace to model.
• Link CDD and System Spec requirements to capabilities.
• Raise follow-up feature tickets for backlog.
• Facilitate internal and formal reviews.
• Contribute in team stand-ups, planning and retrospectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are looking for a Solution-Level Software System Engineer to join our team to support the PAE Fires Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. The candidate in this role will work with contractors, US military, government civilians and system operators to develop system-level concepts that provide solutions to problems that often involve various systems from multiple product offices. These concepts define external interfaces, outline system behavior, performance, and acceptance criteria necessary to support HW and SW engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Working as a member of the Solutions System Engineering Team in prioritizing capabilities to be worked in each Program Increment (PI).
• Working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to better understand the scope of an Initiative/Capability.
• Developing concepts utilizing a Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) approach in an Agile SW workflow and environment.
• Assembling Artifacts and other information into Solutions Initiative Documents (SIDs) as well as Solutions Engineering Documents (SEDs) and refining Jira tickets as necessary.
• Modeling Capability behavior (SV-1, SV-4) using the MagicDraw MBSE tool.
• Creating/modifying existing behavior to include Functions and Data Exchanges/Signals.
• Defining Acceptance Criteria for a Capability and tracing the Acceptance Criteria to behavior in the model.
• Determining the current Capabilities Description Document (CDD) and System Spec requirements being satisfied by the capability and establishing those links in the model.
• Recommending follow-up Feature tickets to be implemented at the Program Level.
• Facilitating/Leading both Internal and Formal Reviews of an Initiative/Capability.
• Adjudicating review comments and transitioning recommended Capabilities/Features to the backlog by drafting Capabilities/Features for implementation using Jira.
• Participating in regularly scheduled team stand-ups as well as Team Planning, Retrospectives, and Prioritization.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to work onsite up to 5 days per week, depending on client needs
• An active SECRET security clearance and the ability to maintain it throughout employment
• A bachelor's degree in a STEM field
• 10 or more years of system engineering or related experience
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Proficiency in MagicDraw
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office toolset
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively interface with various levels of workers/leaders
• Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team environment

Desired Qualifications:

• A master's degree in systems engineering
• Previous experience with the Army Air and Missile Defense Command and Control systems, such as Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS), Patriot, FAAD C2, and ADAM
• Previous experience with the integration of Command and Control Systems in a System of Systems architecture
• Previous experience with hardware and software integration in support of Command and Control Systems
