Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Systems Engineer to develop and implement mission-critical defense technologies for U.S. military and national security operations.

You will lead requirements analysis, system architecture, and verification across subsystems, collaborating with partners and subcontractors to produce interface control documents. The role emphasizes technical writing, readiness for technical reviews, and hands-on integration from design through deployment on domestic and international

Qualifications

• At least 5+ years of engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or complex integrated systems.
• Professional experience developing and managing system requirements using tools such as DOORS or equivalent.
• Familiarity with system modeling and engineering tools such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar.
• Professional knowledge of distributed system architectures, network technologies, and cybersecurity principles.
• Hands‑on experience with software configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and system integration.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

• Participate in Technical Reviews and customer meetings.
• Conduct system performance modeling and analysis.
• Test software modules and integration between components/subsystems in lab environments and in the field.
• Support implementation efforts for domestic and international customers.
• Provide excellent verbal and written communication skills for documentation of analyses, design decisions, and implementations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
• Knowledge of military standards including MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, IPC Standards.
• Proficiency in theoretical and applied knowledge of C2-4ISR subject areas.
• Ability to conduct effective training and present a professional appearance.
• Evaluate field performance and product failures, and recommend, evaluate, and implement product improvements.
• Accurately document designs through creation and maintenance of design requirement specifications, product drawings, and material specifications in accordance with ISO requirements.

Work Environment

This position requires working onsite five days a week with the choice of working hours from 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm. The environment is collaborative and offers the opportunity to engage with cross‑functional teams. Engineers have the chance to contribute throughout the full product lifecycle, from requirements and design through integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $73.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
