Job summary

Konik seeks a Systems Engineer to collaborate with clients to define requirements and perform high-level system design for complex electro-mechanical products. You will provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams on multidisciplinary projects from concept to implementation.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in related roles, a strong MBSE background, and the ability to interact with clients and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain secret security clearance and to work in an ITAR-compliant setting.

Responsibilities

• Create and carry out systems engineering evaluations and trade studies and make implementation recommendations.

• Directly supports daily operations of developing complex hardware in harsh environments.
• Participates in planning, design, evaluation, and implementation of new operating systems and hardware.

Systems Engineer

South Metro | $40-65/hr | Contract to Hire | 4 days on-site, 1 day remote

Konik is partnering with a local engineering firm that is seeking to add a Systems Engineer to their team. In this role, you will work with clients to understand their needs, define requirements for various disciplines, and perform high-level system design for complex electro-mechanical products. You will provide technical leadership on projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet customers' needs on multidisciplinary projects. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving challenging technical problems and influencing product direction from concept to implementation.

Systems Engineer Responsibilities:

• Create and carry out systems engineering evaluations and trade studies and make implementation recommendations.
• Convert client needs into specifications.
• Organize and/or carry out modifications and additions to the hardware, software, and associated systems, including research, analysis, advice, configuration, installation, and testing of new hardware and software.
• Directly supports the daily operations of developing complex hardware utilized in harsh environments; responsibilities include assessing system use, monitoring reaction time, and providing primary support for identifying and fixing operational issues.
• Participates in the planning, design, technical evaluation, and implementation of new operating systems and hardware for both new and existing system designs.
• Provides engineering employees with technical direction, instruction, and support.

Systems Engineer Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a relevant field required; 7+ years of experience is preferred.
• Strong background in technical leadership of complex system design of electromechanical products.
• Model-based system engineering experience is ideal.
• Excellent communication ability; comfortable interfacing directly with clients as well as a wide variety of internal stakeholders.
• Ability to obtain secret security clearance and to work in an ITAR-compliant setting.
