Job summary

Tharros seeks a Systems Engineer specializing in Cyberspace Systems to support NSWCDD in Dahlgren, VA. You will provide systems and mission engineering expertise across development, integration, modernization, security, and sustainment of cyberspace capabilities and enterprise software applications.

The role requires deep knowledge of cyberspace systems engineering, cloud environments, microservices, big data, and secure system design to deliver actionable information for operational decisions

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance; ability to obtain a TS/SCI
• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline with 4 years of relevant experience
• 2+ years of concurrent experience with Navy surface or submarine shipboard weapons, combat, and/or fire control systems
• Expertise in developing ECPs, ICDs, IDS, WS and other system design/integration documents for weapons control systems
• Experience in big data design, architecture, and implementation

Responsibilities

• Develop Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Interface Change Requests (ICDs), and Interface Design Specifications (IDS) for weapons control systems
• Develop Weapon Specifications (WS) and other system design/integration documents for surface combat, control, and situational awareness systems
• Support weapon and combat system certification processes, including self-certification criteria
• Perform system analysis and requirements decomposition for weapons control and combat systems
• Support system integration testing and validation activities
• Participate in technical design reviews, configuration control boards, and working groups
• Maintain requirements traceability from specifications to design documentation
• Support shipboard system integration and fleet deployment events
• Document test results, engineering analyses, and system performance assessments

Tharros is seeking aSystems Engineer specializing in Cyberspace Systems to support NSWCDD in Dahlgren, VA. This position provides systems and mission engineering expertise supporting the development, integration, modernization, security, and sustainment of cyberspace capabilities, enterprise software applications, and cyber-enabled mission systems throughout the full system lifecycle.

The position requires a strong understanding of cyberspace systems engineering, cyber mission architectures, enterprise software systems, secure system design, cloud environments, microservices, big data, machine learning, and complex data integration. Projects include engineering support for software-intensive DoD cyberspace systems that integrate information from numerous standard and non-standard data sources, perform correlation and analytics, and deliver actionable information to support operational decision-making.

Requirements

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance; ability to obtain a TS/SCI
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline, and eight (4) years of relevant experience
  • OR ten (6) years of a demonstrated and established knowledge base and subject matter expertise relevant to specific technical disciplines required, including the qualifications below; or US Naval operational experience at the E7 level or higher.
• 2+ years of concurrent experience with Navy surface or submarine shipboard weapons, combat, and/or fire control systems to include current Navy programs such as SLBM and Aegis.
• Expertise understanding and developing Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), Interface Change Requests (ICD), Interface Design Specifications (IDS), Weapon Specifications (WS) and other system design/system integration documents for weapons control systems and surface combat, control and/or situational awareness systems.
• Specific experience in big data design, architecture, and implementation is required.
