We are seeking a Systems Engineer, Journeyman to support our customer in Crane, Indiana. In this role, you will support NSWC Crane Expeditionary Electronic Warfare (EW) efforts tied to tactical and expeditionary mission systems in support of customer and USMC requirements. This position supports systems engineering across the full lifecycle, including requirements development, architecture definition, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system integration, test and evaluation, technical documentation, and transition of mission capabilities into operational use. This role is ideal for an engineer who can combine strong systems-thinking with practical execution in a mission-focused environment. The successful candidate will help define and mature system architectures, manage requirements and technical baselines, support hardware and software integration, and contribute to the development of secure, operationally relevant EW mission systems and tactical information systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the development and refinement of system and subsystem requirements, specifications, architectures, and technical baselines for EW and tactical mission systems.
  • Perform systems engineering activities including requirement definition, requirement allocation, requirement traceability, system design, and system test support.
  • Apply MBSE principles and develop system models using SysML/UML and related engineering tools.
  • Support the design, integration, and assessment of hardware and software components for EW mission systems and tactical information systems.
  • Develop and maintain interface products, including interface definitions and related technical documentation, and support resolution of hardware/software interoperability issues.
  • Assist with technical planning, prototyping, benchmarking, and evaluation of existing and emerging system concepts to support warfighter needs.
  • Support system integration, lab testing, field testing, demonstrations, troubleshooting, and deficiency resolution in secure environments.
  • Review and assess engineering changes, technical insertions, obsolescence issues, and related impacts to performance, maintainability, interfaces, and lifecycle support.
  • Prepare and contribute to briefings, white papers, technical reports, requirements documentation, and other customer deliverables.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including software, RF, systems, test, cybersecurity, and logistics personnel to support mission execution.
  • Provide engineering support to tactical information system efforts involving requirements analysis, design, development, test, modification, documentation, and quality support for systems aligned to USMC needs.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another STEM-related discipline.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in systems engineering.
  • Experience with requirements development, traceability, and technical baseline management.
  • Experience with MBSE and modeling tools using SysML/UML.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering tools such as MagicDraw, DOORS, or similar requirements/traceability tools.
  • Ability to support system architecture development, integration activities, and technical documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently on advanced technical assignments and support multiple priorities in a dynamic program environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Electronic Warfare systems, tactical mission systems, or expeditionary military capabilities.
  • Knowledge of RF system design, verification, qualification, and integration in an EW environment.
  • Experience supporting system integration, lab testing, developmental testing, field demonstrations, or operationally relevant evaluations.
  • Familiarity with SOSA-aligned hardware approaches, open architectures, or modular subsystem integration.
  • Experience with interface control documentation, configuration planning, ECP review, or CCB support.
  • Familiarity with tactical information systems, cybersecurity-adjacent system requirements, or mission systems supporting USMC operations.
  • Experience working with OEMs, Government stakeholders, and cross-functional engineering teams in a secure development environment.
Clearance and Benefits
