Job summary

Aqua IT is seeking an experienced System Engineer with Linux system administration experience to support cloud and on-premise systems within a mission operations team. The role focuses on operating and sustaining a mission-critical geospatial solution for DoD end users, including installation, configuration, administration, support, and maintenance of critical systems.

The ideal candidate will have extensive Linux/RHEL experience, HPC knowledge with Slurm and MPI, and capability to work with NGA

Qualifications

• Requires BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience; OR additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
• Active TS/SCI Clearance with ability to obtain Polygraph post hire.
• Must meet DOD 8570 Certification (Security+ or equivalent or higher).
• Proactive self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience provisioning Linux end users and managing RHEL environments.
• Experience building multi-node environments for parallel workloads.
• Experience with Linux clusters (Slurm and MPI) for HPC systems.
• Strong NGA Networking knowledge.
• Proficient reviewing STIG/IAVA scans and remediating vulnerabilities.
• Experience performing Virtual Machine backups/snapshots.
• Experience with ISCP exercises security collaboration.
• Experience scripting for administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and automation.
• Knowledge of Systems, Architectural, SW Development and SW Sustainment Practices.

Responsibilities

• Take a leadership role in system changes and improvements.

Aqua IT has an opening for an experienced System Engineer with Linux system administration experience to support cloud and on-premise systems with a mission operations team. The team is involved in operation and sustainment of a mission-critical geospatial solution supporting DoW end users. A successful candidate will have experience with installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of mission critical cloud and on-premise systems.

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibilities will involve taking a leadership role in system changes and improvements;
• Working directly with government and contractor POCs to troubleshoot issues;
• Proactively recommend configuration changes to help improve system performance;
• Regularly work with government and contractor POCs to keep systems security compliant; and
• Author and update operational and security documentation, including troubleshooting guides and SOPs.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must currently possess an active TS/SCI Clearance with ability to obtain & maintain a Polygraph post hire
