Acara Solutions in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a Systems Engineer to contribute to the development and integration of complex electronic systems. You will work across the full systems engineering lifecycle, translating customer and program requirements into hardware and software solutions while meeting technical, cost, and schedule objectives.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Systems/CS/Mechanical/Aerospace and 2+ years of systems engineering experience with MBSE and DOORs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace.
• 2+ years of experience in systems engineering and the government program acquisition lifecycle.
• 1+ years of experience with standard system engineering processes including MIL-STD-499, EIA-632, IEEE 1220 or IEEE/ISO/IEC 15288.
• 1+ years of experience working with DOORs and MBSE.

• Translate customer and product requirements into comprehensive system solutions, ensuring alignment with technical, cost, and schedule constraints.
• Perform functional and timeline analyses, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition to develop hardware and software specifications.
• Define, manage, and maintain requirements traceability for complex electronic systems using MBSE processes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop system specifications, requirements documentation, interface definitions, system diagrams, technical analyses, and design review materials.

Job Requirements

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering or Computer Science Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace
• 2+ years of experience in systems engineering and the government program acquisition lifecycle.
• 1+ years of experience in standard system engineering process including MIL-STD-499, EIA-632, IEEE 1220 or IEEE/ISO/IEC 15288
• 1+ years of experience in working with DOORs and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

What Sets You Apart:

• Master's Degree in Engineering
• Strong knowledge of MBSE languages (UML, SysML, and UPDM), frameworks (DoDAF, UAF, Magic Grid), and methodologies (OOSEM, Harmony-SE, RUP-SE, OPM).
• Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with internal and external customers.
• Systems Test experience (ability develop and write test procedures and verify requirements) or RF experience
• Stonge communication skills and documentation
• Ability to interact with senior customer organizations and personnel.

Additional Information:

• Requires an active Secret Clearance
• Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 15%.
