Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks a Systems Director - Engineering Program Management to lead a team at our Kirtland AFB facility in Albuquerque, NM. You will oversee program office activities, budgets, staffing, and customer interactions to ensure mission success for Space Force and AFRL programs.

You'll partner with cross-functional groups, shape acquisition strategies, and provide technical leadership across space systems, propulsion, and defense domains, while maintaining Top Secret/SCI

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM or closely related field.
• 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in systems engineering or program management within the space enterprise.
• Demonstrated management and leadership skills within a program office or matrixed technical organization.
• Ability to work with senior customer personnel in a customer field-office environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; experience presenting and writing technical information.
• Occasional travel.
• Active Top Secret/SCI or SSBI clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in positioning Aerospace as the FFRDC of choice for Space Force and AFRL by providing high-value program contributions.
• Integrate Aerospace knowledge to provide responsive recommendations to customer leadership for multiple programs.
• Communicate across organizations to ensure timely, high-quality strategies, analyses, and risk assessments.
• Leverage Aerospace capabilities to execute the mission portfolio through virtual teaming and matrix engagement.
• Collaborate with diverse teams including military, government civilians, primes, SE&I contractors, FFRDCs, and labs.
• Manage a team of 5-10 employees and assist with budgets, staffing, and evaluations.
• Participate in customer senior decision forums; advise Space Force on acquisitions and launch support.
• Anticipate customer needs and build an agile regional workforce.
• Manage level of effort allocations of program office team and ETG reach back.
