Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Systems Director - Engineering Program Management and Systems Engineering to lead program offices and manage a large distributed architecture from concept through integration and test.

This senior role requires 12+ years of space systems experience, a relevant degree, and active TS/SSBI/SCI clearance; travel up to 1 week per month is expected. The company offers extensive benefits and a competitive salary range.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
• 12+ years of progressively responsible technical experience in space systems, programs, and systems engineering or acquisition.
• Experience leading high-performance teams in complex, multi-disciplinary environments.
• Experience working with the Aerospace Engineering Technology Group.
• Ability to communicate effectively and develop relationships with customers, SETA, Aerospace, and contractor personnel.
• Willing to travel up to 1 week per month.
• Requires TS/SSBI/SCI security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Lead Aerospace program office and ETG team to oversee AI&T, production, and launch of a distributed architecture.
• Identify opportunities to engage in fast-paced production programs and add value.
• Understand and assess the technical architecture and design of multiple programs.
• Identify and characterize risks; provide options for informed decisions.
• Build strong working relationships with customers, SETA, and contractor staff.
• Lead non-conformance and major technical issue response teams.
• Prepare and present timely, technically accurate reports and presentations.
• Mentor Aerospace team members in leadership and executive presentation skills.
