Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Systems Development Engineer to create scalable tools and services that keep Aurora and RDS fast, reliable, and secure. You will design, implement, and operate systems across global data centers, collaborating with product owners to deliver robust features and improved customer experiences.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of designing or architecting distributed systems.
• 4+ years of admin experience in networking, storage and operating systems.
• Bachelor's degree or CSSLP certification.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals including networking, storage and OS.
• Experience programming in modern languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell or Ruby.
• Current, active US Government Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.

• Create, improve, or invent tools or applications as part of larger systems.
• Write secure, stable, testable and maintainable code with minimal defects.
• Understand hardware, software, networking, and operating systems and their interactions.
• Participate in team design, scoping, and prioritization discussions.
