Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Redmond, WA is seeking a versatile Systems Development Engineer to bridge software, hardware, RF, and signal processing across the System Validation team. The role focuses on characterizing and validating next-generation phased array antennas, with emphasis on automation, test pipelines, and cross-functional collaboration.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with RF systems, lab equipment, and software scripting, in a Linux environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Computer/Systems Engineering or related field
  • 2+ years hardware design and validation experience
  • Experience coding, scripting, or automating in at least one language (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Ruby, PowerShell)
  • Experience in a Linux/Unix environment
  • RF & Phased Arrays: experience with phased array antenna architectures, beamforming, or RF characterization techniques
  • RF & Hardware Basics: experience with lab equipment (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes) and RF principles

Responsibilities

  • RF & System Performance: Develop tools for characterizing system performance of phased array antennas.
  • Architecture & Cross-Functional Design: Work closely with cross-functional teams to design, model, and evaluate phased array architectures while analyzing end-to-end RF performance.
  • Automation & Validation: Build scalable test frameworks, characterization tools, and automated test pipelines for system validation.
  • Testing: Plan, develop, and implement test activities for phased array antennas.

We are looking for a versatile Systems Development Engineer who thrives at the intersection of software, hardware, RF, and signal processing. As a core member of the System Validation team, you will bridge the gap between multiple engineering disciplines to characterize, test, and validate next-generation phased array antenna systems and architecture. The ideal candidate is comfortable writing code and analyzing RF behavior. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Key job responsibilities

  • RF & System Performance: Develop tools for characterizing system performance of phased array antennas.
  • Architecture & Cross-Functional Design: Work closely with cross-functional teams to design, model, and evaluate phased array architectures while analyzing end-to-end RF performance.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields
  • 2+ years of hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems experience
  • Experience coding, scripting, automating in at least one language (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Ruby, or PowerShell)
  • Experience in a Linux or Unix environment
  • RF & Phased Arrays: Experience with phased array antenna architectures, beamforming, or RF characterization techniques.
  • RF & Hardware Basics: Experience with lab equipment (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes), and foundational knowledge of RF principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Systems Knowledge: Understanding of phased array antennas, electromagnetics, or digital signal processing (DSP) fundamentals.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
