Job summary

Nucor Corporation in Monroe, GA, seeks a skilled Racking/Material Handling Engineer to support quotation and order phases. You will create system drawings (approval, permit, fabrication, installation) and interpret engineering calculations to design rack systems, collaborating with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Project Management.

Minimum 5+ years in the rack industry and expert AutCAD required; preferred Bachelor's in engineering/design.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in the Racking / Material Handling industry.
• Expert command of AutCAD design software.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, design, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Create system approval drawings, permit drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings for customers during quotation and order phases.
• Interpret engineering calculations to help design systems, calculate weights, and maintain graphic standards.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Production, and Project Management to support client projects.

Basic Job Functions:

• A demonstrated ability to generate quotation packages and final detail packages for complex rack systems including selective rack, cantilever, dynamic systems, drive-in rack, and pick modules.
• Create system approval drawings, permit drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings for customers as needed, during quotation phase as well as during order phase.
• An understanding of how to interpret engineering calculations to help design systems, basic math to calculate system weights, and have an expert grasp of graphic standards.
• Collaborate and communicate with outside customers as well as internal customers such as Sales, Engineering, Production, and Project Management, to support successful client projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5 years’ experience in the Racking / Material Handling industry
• Expert command of AutCAD design software

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, design, or comparable experience
• Experience with 3D Autodesk design software Inventor or Revit
• Prior experience leading a team
