Responsibilities

Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring Systems Design Engineers to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory.

  • Design a complete and complex framework, system or product.
  • Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility.
  • Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses.
  • Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems.
  • Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives.
  • Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
  • Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Under supervision, exercise limited judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications

Education: Degree required. Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.

Experience: Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: N/A. Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience. Skills may be gained concurrently.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

  • 1. Performing hardware verification;
  • 2. CPU architecture, SOC, or system architecture;
