Job summary

Solventum, building on a legacy of healthcare manufacturing excellence, seeks a Systems Control Technician for the Irvine facility. You will support production operations, ensure quality standards, and contribute to a safe, efficient plant environment on the 3rd shift (Sun–Thu, 9:00pm–5:30am).

Starting pay is $48.91/hour with a $1.00 shift differential; training on 1st shift for ~3 months to 1 year. You will work with automation, robotics, and PLCs, driving reliability and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in mechanical/electrical/electronics required.
• Minimum two years of mechanical/electrical equipment maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and inspect plant equipment, electrical systems, and automation control systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Fanuc robots, Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, power distribution, and other automation equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, PLC logic, instrumentation diagrams, and drawings to diagnose issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and system testing for safe, reliable operation of production equipment.
• Load, modify, and support control system programs while keeping equipment data and documentation current.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Facilities teams to support installations, improvements, and safety compliance (LOTO).
• Demonstrate clear spoken and written English communication.

The impact you'll make in this role

As a Systems Control Technician, you'll be responsible for supporting production operations, ensuring quality standards, and contributing to a safe and efficient plant environment.

This role works the 3rd shift (Sunday - Thursday; 9:00pm - 5:30am) and includes starting pay of $48.91/hour plus a $1.00 shift differential. Training occurs on 1st shift (Monday - Friday; 5:00am - 1:30pm) for an estimated training period of 3 months - 1 year.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting plant equipment, electrical systems, and automation control systems.
• Maintaining and troubleshooting Fanuc robots, Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, power distribution systems, and other automated manufacturing equipment.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, PLC logic, instrumentation diagrams, single-line drawings, and other technical documentation to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Performing preventive maintenance, calibration, and system testing to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment.
• Loading, modifying, and supporting control system programs while maintaining equipment data, technical records, and system documentation.
• Collaborating with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Facilities teams to support equipment installations, automation improvements, maintenance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety requirements.
• Possessing the ability to clearly speak, understand, and write in English to communicate effectively in both verbal and written contexts.

Required Qualifications

• Possess a two (2) year technical degree in a mechanical, electrical, or electronics field
• Possess two (2) years of mechanical/electrical equipment maintenance experience

"Nice to Have" Qualifications

• Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.
• Ability to work 3rd Shift (Sunday - Thursday; 9:00pm - 5:30am)
• Three (3) or more years of mechanical/electrical equipment maintenance experience, with an emphasis on Process Instrumentation and Control Systems.
• Possess the knowledge and skillsets required to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair both mechanical and electrical industrial equipment and devices.
• Proficient in the use of MS Excel, MS Teams, and SAP
• Ability to maintain the required quality and quantity of personal hand tools as listed by plant management.
