Job description

Job Title: System Architect II

ARES is seeking a System Architect II to provide records management services for the Agency in support of the NASA Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) contract. eMITS is the Agency's enterprise-level contract creating and delivering multimedia and technical communications through the use of the internet, digital platforms, and IT management for NASA's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Office of Communications (OCOMM). From photographing rocket launches and recoveries, to producing engaging videos, to information technology management, to using social media to share NASA's message, eMITS integrates services for NASA IT and provides NASA's communication to the outside world. Job Responsibilities:
  1. Design, develop, and oversee system architectures, including complex systems and systems design activities. Serve as the focal point for the development and communication of the system architecture.
  2. Ensure conversion of mission requirements into comprehensive system solutions, considering design and technology maturity constraints.
  3. Develop system and system element architecture, design, and interface definitions.
  4. Support internal and external reviews.
  5. Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies, design, and analysis methodologies.
  6. Develop models and architectural guidelines for current and future system development.
  7. Create dashboards for various records management functions, report on them monthly, and assist with optimization of electronic Capstone email records management.
  8. Assist in developing policies and guidelines for decommissioning and migrating IT systems.
  9. Assist with metadata policies to ensure consistency across information management systems.
  10. This position can be remote, hybrid, or onsite; employees will bear travel costs to the nearest NASA Center for badging and equipment issuance.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum BA/BS degree and/or 6 years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, OneDrive), SharePoint/Dashboard, and Box.
