Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Systems Architect to own the end-to-end architecture for robotic manipulation platforms, define requirements, and lead cross‑functional development across hardware, controls, software, perception, and safety.

You will mentor teams, establish ICDs and ConOps, drive verification and validation strategies, and guide architecture decisions in a federal contractor environment with a salary range of $130K–$180K.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience developing complex electromechanical, robotic, aerospace, automotive, or autonomous systems.
• Demonstrated experience defining system architectures and leading cross-functional development efforts.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end system architecture for robotic manipulation platforms and related subsystems.
• Define system requirements, functional allocations, interface definitions, and architectural roadmaps.
• Lead requirements decomposition across hardware, controls, software, perception, and safety domains.
• Establish Interface Control Documents (ICDs), ConOps, system specifications, and architecture artifacts.
• Conduct technical trade studies and evaluate architecture alternatives to optimize performance, cost, reliability, and scalability.
• Drive cross-functional alignment across engineering disciplines and serve as the primary technical decision-maker for system-level design.
• Lead system integration planning, verification, validation, and acceptance strategies.
• Identify architectural risks and develop mitigation plans throughout the product lifecycle.
• Establish engineering standards, systems engineering processes, and governance practices.
• Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership during design reviews and architecture reviews.

As Systems Architect you will be responsible for;

• Experience developing and maintaining:
  • System Requirements Documents (SRDs)
  • ICDs
  • Trade Studies
  • ConOps
  • Verification & Validation Plans
• Experience balancing systems engineering rigor with agile product development environments.
• Ability to drive technical decisions with minimal oversight.

Salary Range: $130K-$180K
