Qualifications

Job description

In-person Systems and Data Analyst role supporting Isaac School District No. 5 with integrations, reporting, and database/security integrity across district systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standards and techniques to ensure quality, security, and integrity of district databases and the data warehouse, including related onsite and offsite systems
• Design and implement district security standards in collaboration with the Director of Technology and Data Manager, including security procedures and authorized employee access levels
• Build and maintain information system integrations and data reporting tools
• Create and maintain data queries and reports to support other departments
• Assist with Student Data System maintenance and data reporting requirements
• Partner with personnel across departments to map workflows, develop flowcharts, prepare reports, and evaluate alternative approaches for improved system efficiency
• Map data flow between purchased applications and district systems; manage data conversion and ensure data integrity
• Work with end users to understand needs, including application maintenance, modifications, and new requirements
• Identify solutions to user problems and propose alternatives that align to user objectives
• Assist and train users on new or modified systems
• Contribute to project delivery across design, feasibility study, hardware and database requirements, and programming needs using current generation software languages and application packages
• Support software and data needs for Staff Assessment, State Data requirements, Surveys, and Student Assessment
• Support management systems including Financial Services, Student Management, Learning management, Inventory, Data Warehouse, and System Monitoring
• Coordinate with vendors and state agencies to support data, reporting, and integrations
• Document software application changes and confirm adequate testing for all modifications
• Install new software and system upgrades to meet district requirements
• Assist with maintaining and updating district databases and keep the district work-order ticketing system updated
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in programming using current programming languages, methodologies, and operating systems
• Experience planning and managing projects
• Understanding of data query and analysis procedures
• Software knowledge including financial, statistical, and student management systems
• Knowledge of elementary school data systems requirements (preferred)
• Ability to work with others to problem solve, analyze issues, develop plans of action, and reach solutions
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and reassign priorities quickly
• Ability to communicate with and instruct others using technical and non-technical language, as appropriate
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
