Job summary

Intone Inc. seeks a skilled GIS professional for a 6-month contract in Northern Virginia. The role focuses on asset management platforms, data analysis, and governance, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring onsite presence 3 days a week.

You will manage asset data using ArcGIS, Cityworks, and enterprise databases, develop spatial databases, and create complex visualizations. Strong scripting in Python/PSQL and experience in project leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Geography, GIS, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Three years of relevant experience, preferably within a water utility.
• Experience in database design, querying, and optimization.
• Proven project management across lifecycles.
• Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and Cityworks.
• Advanced SQL tooling experience (SQL Developer/TOAD/SQLPlus).
• Ability to develop Python and PSQL scripts.
• Knowledge of geodatabase versioning and SDE workflows.
• Experience publishing services with ArcGIS Server.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS Desktop installations and configurations.
• Experience with diagramming tools (LucidChart/Visio/GitHub).

Job description

This is a 6-month contract position supporting GIS and asset management platforms for a public utility in Northern Virginia. The role is hybrid, requiring onsite presence 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Manage, analyze, and optimize asset data through ArcGIS, Cityworks, and enterprise databases
• Create complex spatial and tabular visualizations and reports using GIS and Cityworks data
• Develop spatial database tables for testing, analysis, and map creation
• Mentor and review the work of team members
• Conduct statistical analysis, including parametric testing, geo-statistical analysis, and variance studies using business data
• Develop and maintain scripts using Python and PSQL for task automation
• Perform advanced data analysis for both spatial and tabular datasets
• Support administration of a three-tiered GIS environment
• Validate GIS and CMMS data against business logic related to collection and distribution networks
• Publish varying services using ArcGIS Server
• Share content online using ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap to ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Portal
• Perform installations and configurations of ArcGIS desktop software
• Lead GIS, asset management, and governance projects, including identifying risks, dependencies, and breaking down tasks into activities, schedules, and durations
• Lead and facilitate collaborative, productive, and efficient project meetings
• Develop runbooks, SLAs, and SOPs to support knowledge sharing and redundancy

Qualifications

• Required
  • Associate's degree in Geography, GIS, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Three years of relevant experience, preferably within a water utility
  • Demonstrated experience in database management, including design, querying, and optimization
  • Proven project management experience, including planning, coordinating tasks, and tracking deliverables across project lifecycles
  • Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and Trimble Cityworks
  • Advanced experience with SQL Developer, TOAD, and SQLPlus
  • Ability to develop and maintain scripts using Python and PSQL
  • Knowledge of geodatabase versioning workflows and SDE versioning data flows
  • Experience publishing services using ArcGIS Server
  • Knowledge of database design best practices, including design for the three degrees of cardinality
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to think critically
  • Ability to conduct advanced data analysis for spatial and tabular datasets
  • Experience with diagramming tools such as LucidChart, Visio, or GitHub
  • Ability to perform installations and configurations of ArcGIS desktop software
  • Ability to validate GIS and CMMS data against business logic related to collection and distribution networks
  • Demonstrated willingness to embrace changing technology landscapes and quickly learn new skills
