Amentum is seeking a Systems Administrator (Windows) in Kauai, HI to provide Windows system administration for networks at PMRF. You will deploy Cyber Security mandated upgrades, patches, and lockdowns, and perform troubleshooting in a live mission environment.

Responsibilities include managing Windows Server environments, AD/DNS/DHCP/GPOs, RMF controls, patch management, and automation via PowerShell. Requires DoD 8570 IAT II and OS certifications, plus strong teamwork and problem-solving

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; substitution: high school diploma or equivalent with 4 years of System Administration/IT experience may substitute.
• 1 year of System Administration/IT experience; related work experience may substitute for degree.
• Knowledge of IT systems and advanced IT infrastructure concepts.
• Must be proficient with PCs, software, and office equipment.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities

Job description

Amentum is seeking a Systems Administrator (Windows) for a position in Kauai, HI. Provides Windows system administration for all Clients and Servers connected to the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) classified and unclassified networks. Deploys Cyber Security mandated system upgrades, system patches, and system security lockdown requirements. Performs system wide troubleshooting and problem resolution in a live mission environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Microsoft Windows Server environments in classified and unclassified environments across Navy networks.

• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs) across multiple domains and enclaves.

• Implement and maintain RMF security controls and ensure systems are compliant with DISA STIGs and DoW cybersecurity policies.

• Apply and manage patches and updates across all Microsoft systems in accordance with DoW and Navy patch management policies.

• Manage automated installation methods and system imaging (e.g., SCCM, VMware, Nutanix)

• Perform system hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation using tools such as ACAS, ESS, and SCAP.

• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation of administrative tasks and system configuration.

• Support virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and manage virtual infrastructure lifecycle.

• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to support ATO packages, POA&Ms, and audit readiness.

• Maintain system documentation, configuration baselines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Participate in Change Control Boards (CCBs) and Configuration Management Boards (CMBs).

• Assist with incident response, forensic analysis, and system recovery efforts.

• Support backup and disaster recovery strategies using enterprise tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault).

Additional Responsibilities

• General office environment with site visits as well as periodic “at sea” duty to support the PMRF’s Mobile at Sea Sensor system (MATSS)

• Candidate must be capable of working in a team environment and participate in technical and system administrative activities throughout project life cycles.

• Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Over 50 lbs. (two-men assist)

• Work Positions: walking or standing, crawling, kneeling, cramped, and work requiring repeated stooping, sitting, and/or frequent stair climbing

• Environmental: Customer Contact, Extended Workday, Confined Work Area, Office Laboratory, Field Assignment, Inclement Weather

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Associate’s degree

• Substitution: A high school diploma or equivalent with 4 years of System Administration/IT experience may be substituted for the associates degree requirement

Experience

• One year of System Administration/IT experience -Years of directly related work experience may be substituted for the degree

• Knowledge of IT systems and advance IT infrastructure concepts

• Must be proficient in operating personal computers, computer software and standard office equipment

• Must have basic keyboarding skills and aptitude for neatness and accuracy in sorting

• Critical thinking - Proven problem solver

Required Training, Licenses and Certifications: (subject to change based on industry, DoD, or local policy requirements)

• DOD 8570.1M IAT Level II required prior to start

• One of the following OS Certifications required prior to start:

- Azure Administrator Associate (Exam AZ-104)

- Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (Exam AZ-800 and AZ-801)

• Advance certifications may be substituted for a degree or experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Advance knowledge and certification in both Windows Server and RHEL is considered highly desired

• Proficiency in automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python)

• VMware/Nutanix certification

• Knowledge/Administration of Trellix, LogRhythm, and MDE

• Experience with MECM

• Knowledge in Cyber Security Methods and Techniques

• Knowledge of DoW IT systems, to include Windows, RHEL, and comprehensive infrastructure concepts

Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Top Secret clearance or will be subject to a US Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.

Compensation Details:

$90K - $110K
