Job summary

Acuity, Inc. is hiring a Systems Administrator to support federal agency missions in IT Modernization, Data Enablement, and Hyperautomation. The role focuses on Windows Server administration, SQL Server, SCCM, and cloud services.

The candidate will manage full system lifecycle from design to implementation, provide technical documentation, and work on client engagements in a team setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (or equivalent related field experience).
  • 5+ years Windows server experience (2012, 2016, 2019).
  • Minimum of five years specialized experience in Systems Administration supporting MS SQL Server, SCCM, O365/SharePoint and MS Azure.
  • Knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, Registry, Group Policy Objects.
  • Proficiency scripting in PowerShell or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Perform system implementation, troubleshooting, and administration activities.
  • Installation, training, support, monitoring, and maintenance of hardware and software.
  • Troubleshooting and resolution of problems and reporting of these efforts.
  • Perform imaging, restores, and ongoing management of systems, software, and hardware.
  • Create and manage configurations across hardware, software, data, and security-related information.
  • Develop diagrams, system configurations, and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical support for testing and evaluation.
  • Lead design through implementation of enterprise solutions.
  • Create prototypes and perform technology evaluations.
  • Ensure Windows hosts and SQL database hosts comply with security standards.
  • Coordinate with IA teams for system accreditation.
  • Plan and perform Windows server configuration changes.
  • Analyze monitoring data for performance optimization.
  • Develop system performance monitoring processes.
  • Maintain current industry knowledge; work in a team on client engagements.

  • Backend Nights (6 am to 6:30 pm local time) Thurs, Fri, Sat, every other Wednesday

Responsibilities
  • Perform system implementation, troubleshooting, and administration activities.
  • Installation, training, support, monitoring, and maintenance of hardware and software.
  • Troubleshooting and resolution of problems as well as the communication, tracking, and reporting of these efforts.
  • Performing imaging, restores, and ongoing management of systems, software, and hardware.
  • Creating, maintaining, tracking, and communicating configurations and/or changes of configurations in hardware, software, data, permissions (or security-related information), etc.
  • Providing development, maintenance, and communication of diagrams, system configurations, and technical documentation.
  • Providing technical support for testing and evaluation.
  • Responsible for the full lifecycle of design through implementation of enterprise and business specific solutions involving conceptual and logical architecture.
  • Create prototypes and perform technology evaluations.
  • Ensures Windows application hosts and SQL database hosts comply with applicable system security standards
  • Works with information assurance teams to ensure system accreditation
  • Plans for and performs any required Windows server configuration changes
  • Analyzes monitoring data for performance optimization opportunities
  • Develops and implements system performance monitoring processes
  • Maintains current industry knowledge of development concepts, best practices and procedures for server operations and maintenance
  • Works as part of a team on client engagements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (or equivalent related field experience)
  • 5+ years Windows server experience (2012, 2016, 2019)
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) Years specialized experience in Systems Administration supporting MS SQL Server, MS System Center (SCCM), O365/SharePoint and MS Azure
  • Knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, Registry, Group Policy Objects
  • Proficiency scripting in PowerShell or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
  • Microsoft Server or Infrastructure Certification(s) (or equivalent work experience)
  • Remedy Action Request Server, ServiceNow and ITSM experience
  • SQL database experience
  • ITIL Foundations certification
  • Security+ certification
  • Prior experience in a consulting environment
  • Preference for experience with mentoring and training staff

Salary Range

The salary range for this position represents Acuity's good faith estimate of the compensation for this job title at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's qualifications, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, contract requirements, applicable labor categories, and, where applicable, contract award and funding.
