The role involves provisioning and managing virtualized resources across on‑prem and AWS environments. It requires minimal supervision and a proactive approach to architecture, security, and performance.
Employment Details
- Remote Position
- On‑call beyond normal business hours during the week; weekend rotation may be required.
- Full‑time, Mid‑Senior level
- Compensation: USD $106,000 – $120,000 per year
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct knowledge transfer to junior staff and provide training on new techniques.
- Communicate frequently with senior staff and customers on system issues and provide support.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and resolution on Linux servers in the AWS cloud.
- Formulate and implement policies for database management, security, and utilization.
- Consult users on procedural and technical issues.
- Develop and enhance technical documentation, backup procedures, test plans, and reports.
- Support day‑to‑day administration of assigned systems and new deployments in AWS.
- Provide an architectural framework for system development, maintenance, and enhancement.
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux server instances in AWS.
- Ensure system stability, security, and integrity; respond to outages promptly.
- Analyze and test systems for performance and scalability, meeting security requirements.
- Adhere to corporate policies, including HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of infrastructure support experience.
- 3+ years in public/private cloud technologies, especially AWS.
- 6+ years of extensive hands‑on Unix/Linux experience.
- Hands‑on AWS experience.
- Experience with ITIL processes.
- Strong communication skills; ability to work independently or in a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare/Insurance project experience.
- Experience with state government projects.
