Job summary

Link Solutions is seeking a Senior-Level Systems Administrator to join our Fort Huachuca, AZ team. The role focuses on sustaining enterprise infrastructure, secure communications, and national defense operations across Windows, Linux, AD, and virtualization platforms.

Candidate must have active DoD Top Secret clearance and IAT II certification, plus a second relevant certification. Relocation is available; on-site role with strong emphasis on RMF compliance and cyber defense responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance required.
  • IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/8140.
  • Second industry certification in a relevant technical discipline is required.
  • Experience administering Windows Server environments, AD, and virtualization.
  • Knowledge of enterprise network management and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Windows, Linux/UNIX, and AD server environments for availability, performance, and security.
  • Install, configure, patch, and sustain OSs and enterprise services per government requirements.
  • Monitor system and network performance; troubleshoot issues in classified and unclassified environments.
  • Provide Tier II/III technical support including workstation deployment and user administration.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and privileged access with proper access controls.
  • Administer network infrastructure: routers, switches, firewalls, and cabling systems.
  • Maintain network documentation and configurations; monitor uptime and traffic.
  • Support RMF requirements, security controls, vulnerability assessments, and continuous monitoring.
  • Respond to cybersecurity incidents and perform containment and remediation.
  • Execute backup, recovery, contingency, and DR procedures for resilience.
  • Coordinate with vendors and government stakeholders to resolve issues and manage maintenance.
  • Support system modernization and technology evaluations; participate in testing and implementation.
  • Deliver technical briefings and recommendations to leadership and governance boards.
  • Maintain SOPs, configuration records, and troubleshooting guides.

Job Description

Link Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator (Senior-Level) to join our team in Fort Huachuca, AZ.

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance required

The Systems Administrator will support the U.S. Army Information Systems Engineering Command (USAISEC), Communications Security Directorate (CSD), by administering and sustaining mission-critical enterprise infrastructure supporting secure communications and national defense operations. This position provides senior-level support across Windows and Linux server environments, virtualization platforms, Active Directory services, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity compliance activities in classified and unclassified environments.

Job Responsibilities
  • Administer, maintain, and support physical and virtual Windows, Linux/UNIX, and Active Directory server environments to ensure system availability, performance, and security.
  • Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and sustain operating systems, applications, and enterprise services in accordance with Government and organizational requirements.
  • Monitor system and network performance; troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, and operational issues across classified and unclassified environments.
  • Provide Tier II/III technical support for end users, including workstation deployment, peripheral support, user account administration, and technical training.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, privileged access, and authentication services while enforcing cybersecurity and access control policies.
  • Administer and support network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, encryptors, LAN/WAN connectivity, and copper/fiber cabling systems.
  • Maintain network documentation, configurations, and port assignments while monitoring uptime, traffic, and overall network health.
  • Support cybersecurity operations by implementing RMF requirements, managing security controls, conducting vulnerability assessments, supporting continuous monitoring activities, and maintaining ATO compliance documentation.
  • Respond to cybersecurity incidents, malware infections, and classified spillage events, including system isolation, evidence preservation, and remediation support.
  • Execute and validate backup, recovery, contingency, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure system resilience and operational continuity.
  • Coordinate with vendors, Government stakeholders, and support organizations to resolve technical issues, manage support tickets, and oversee warranty and maintenance activities.
  • Support system modernization, technology evaluations, lifecycle replacement planning, system testing, and implementation of new technologies and capabilities.
  • Prepare and deliver technical briefings, reports, recommendations, and analysis to leadership, stakeholders, and technical governance boards.
  • Develop, maintain, and update system documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), configuration records, and troubleshooting guides to support operations and rapid onboarding of new personnel.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and operational efficiencies in support of mission requirements and organizational objectives.

Qualifications
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance required.
  • Ten (10+) years of experience administering, maintaining, and supporting enterprise information technology systems, including Windows and/or Linux server environments, virtualization platforms, Active Directory, and networked infrastructures.
  • IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, etc.).
  • In addition to the required IAT Level II certification, candidates must possess a second industry-recognized certification in a relevant technical discipline. Acceptable certification areas include systems and network administration, operating systems, server virtualization, videoconferencing technologies, fiber optic cabling, audio/visual systems, network and systems management and control, media access and digital interfaces, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), or system and network protocols.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, and virtualized infrastructure such as VMware vSphere/ESXi.
  • Knowledge of network management, monitoring, and troubleshooting for enterprise server and communications environments.
  • Ability to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network, server, and communication technologies.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Army, DISA, NETCOM, USAISEC, or other federal government environments.
  • Experience supporting videoconferencing, VoIP, and audio/visual technologies.
  • Familiarity with fiber optic cabling, digital media interfaces, and communications infrastructure.
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent industry certifications.
  • Experience providing support for mission-critical systems and VIP end users.
  • Experience administering VMware vSphere/ESXi, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy in enterprise environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex technical environments.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
