Job summary

Referment is seeking a Systems Administrator to join its enterprise technology team in New York. You’ll combine user support with infrastructure administration and project work across a mixed Windows and UNIX/Linux environment.

The role targets a resourceful technologist who enjoys solving unfamiliar problems, improving system management, and helping colleagues use technology effectively. This position offers exposure to desktops, servers, storage, and automation.

Qualifications

• Practical familiarity with systems administration, including hardware and software management and end-user support.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows enterprise environments and standard productivity applications.
• Interest in building technology and helping people use it well.
• Strong research, analytical, communication and organisational skills.
• Evidence of curiosity, sound judgement and achievement through academic or professional work.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot complex issues across PCs, servers, mobile devices and communications infrastructure.
• Administer hardware, software and infrastructure-level systems across Windows and UNIX/Linux environments.
• Support users by phone, remotely and in person, including in a time-sensitive professional environment.
• Identify and implement automation and process improvements that make support and administration more efficient.
• Use independent research, prior experience and careful analysis to resolve unfamiliar technical problems.
