Job summary

Mfinite Consulting LLC is building a pool of systems administrators for contract assignments with North Carolina state and public-sector agencies in the Raleigh area. Assignments typically run 6-12 months; agencies set the schedule (onsite or hybrid).

As a full-time W-2 contractor, you will operate, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers, manage backups and security, tune performance, and document configurations.

Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of systems administration experience.
• Experience with Windows Server and AD/GP; Linux Red Hat or similar.
• Experience with VMware or Hyper-V, backups, and scripting (PowerShell or Bash).
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows and/or Linux server environments.
• Manage backups, patching, security hardening, and user accounts.
• Tune performance and support capacity planning.
• Review system logs to spot issues before they affect users.
• Migrate and integrate new technologies into existing environments.
• Document configurations and procedures.

Keep the servers and systems behind North Carolina's public services running smoothly and securely.

Mfinite Consulting is building a pool of systems administrators for contract assignments with North Carolina state and public-sector agencies in the Raleigh area. Assignments typically run 6-12 months; agencies set the schedule (onsite or hybrid).

Pay & Schedule

• $35 - $42 per hour, based on experience and skill level
• Full-time, about 40 hours per week; some after-hours maintenance windows
• Contract assignment; W-2 hourly employee of Mfinite Consulting LLC
• Direct deposit

What You'll Do

What You Need

• Hands-on Windows Server and Active Directory/Group Policy and/or Red Hat or other Linux
• Experience with VMware or Hyper-V, backup tools and PowerShell or Bash scripting
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; able to pass a background check

Great Fit If You Have

• Microsoft Azure or AWS administration; Microsoft 365/Intune administration
• CompTIA Security+, Server+, RHCSA or Microsoft certifications
• Government IT experience
