Job Summary

Reporting to the System Administration Manager, the Advanced SystemAdministrator assists in the assignment of duties for SystemAdministrator Intermediate and Associate positions. This positionassists with architecting, implementing, and integrating enterprisecloud, hybrid, and on-premises solutions which includes thedeployment and administration of Linux and Windows-based systems. This position will also help mentor junior members of the SystemsAdministration Team. A confidentiality agreement is required of allIT positions and will be renewed annually.

Responsibilities
Systems Administration - 50%

Administer and maintain campus virtualization and storage areanetwork infrastructure.

Incorporate information security standards from the ground up innew systems implementation and related services.

Evaluate and research enterprise solutions to address campusneeds.

Watch for emerging technologies that may be useful in continualprocess review and improvement initiatives through activities likereading journals and other pertinent publications, maintainingcontact with vendors, and participating in professionalorganizations, meetings, and seminars.

Systems Support - 25%

Monitor ITSM queue for and address new and escalated service andsupport requests.

Evaluate system and service compliance with information securitystandards.

Notify system stakeholders in the event of system availabilityissues. Notify IT Leadership of service and system issues.

Operational Administration - 10%

Assist in the assignment of duties for System AdministratorIntermediate and Associate positions.

Create, review and update system and storage documentation.

Maintain the complete life cycle for assigned systems.

Serve as backup to the Systems Administration Manager.

Systems Monitoring - 10%

Routinely monitor systems for service availability and remediatesystem availability issues.

Monitor campus application security patches and alerts.

Other Duties - 5%

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; or anequivalent combination of education, training.

Required Experience

At least four years experience.

Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications

Ability to document, build and manage all aspects of an informationtechnology infrastructure

Preferred Experience

5 years of Windows system administration experience

5 years of cloud virtualization administration experience

5 years of Linux system administration experience

Proposed Salary

This position is a pay grade 10. The available salary range is$60,898 to $68,463. Starting salary within this range is based onrelevant years of experience.
