Captivation Software is seeking a senior level Systems Administrator to support a large-scale Linux environment, including installation, configuration, and day-to-day operations of compute, network, memory and storage components.

The role focuses on maintaining system security, managing Red Hat Satellite, virtualization (VMware ESXi), and IaC tooling (Ansible, SaltStack) while ensuring compliance with security policies and performance requirements for national security missions.

Qualifications

• Fifteen (15) years' experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Five (5) years of additional Systems Administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• A Security+ Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for a large-scale Linux system including installation, configuration, and support of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software.
• Perform day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for compute, network, memory, and storage components.
• Maintain system security integrity and configure network components; implement OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Description

Captivation Software is looking for a senior level systems administrator who shall be responsible for providing support for a large-scale Linux system including installation of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all the compute, network, memory, and storage system components. In addition, the System Administrator shall maintain the system security integrity and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Requirements

Security Clearance:

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

Minimum Qualifications:

• Fifteen (15) years' experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required
• Five (5) years of additional Systems Administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• A Security+ Certification is required

Required Skills:

• Experience using the Linux CLI
• Experience in performing System Administration including installation, configuration, and support of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software in a large-scale Linux cluster environment
• General technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage system components
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite systems management solution
• Familiarity using Splunk for ingesting, indexing, searching, monitoring and analyzing big data
• Experience with the sustainment and support of large Linux clusters including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution
• Experience configuring and sustaining VMware ESXi/Virtualization environments
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools such as SaltStack and Ansible
• Experience with corporate STE/STN security compliance policies and procedures
• Experience using system monitoring tools such as HPE One View and Nagios
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker

Desired Skills:

• Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
• Experience with distributed files systems such as Weka, CEPH, GPFS, and HDFS
• Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools such as Jira and Confluence

• Annual Salary: $130,000 - $270,000 (Depends on the Years of Experience)
