Job summary

Amentum in Maryland is seeking a System Administrator to support a new prime contract. You will manage IT system infrastructure, perform day-to-day operations, and troubleshoot client/server/storage/network devices for a government contracting environment.

Qualified candidates have TS/SCI Poly, a BS in Computer Science or related field (or 12 years of equivalent experience), and at least 10 years of System Administrator experience; DoD8570 IAM Level I certification is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of System Administrator experience on programs of similar scope and complexity.

Job description

Amentum is seeking a System Administrator for a new prime contract that is based out of our Maryland office.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for IT system implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Manage IT system infrastructure and related processes.
• Perform day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve Tier I (Help Desk) and Tier II (Escalation) issues; handle escalation and status communication to agency management and internal customers.
• Support the dispatch system and hardware problems, remaining involved through resolution.
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, install/load OS software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components; implement OS enhancements for reliability and performance.
• Manage daily configuration and operation of IT systems; assist users with accessing and using IT systems.
• Optimize system operations, resource utilization, and perform capacity analysis and planning.
• Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.

Qualifications

• Clearance required: TS/SCI Poly.
• Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, IT Engineering, or related field; otherwise, four (4) additional years of work-related experience may substitute for the required total of twelve (12) years.
• Minimum experience: Ten (10) years as a System Administrator on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Required certifications: Compliance with DoD8570.01-M at a minimum IAM Level I.

• Adhere to the safety culture established by Amentum—complete all training, self-aid/buddy-aid responsibilities, participate in emergency response tasks, and serve on safety committees and teams.
• Apply the Amentum Quality Policy and comply with applicable quality system documents and customer contracts; understand quality management and customer satisfaction responsibilities.
• Read, understand, and implement general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to the role.

Compensation

• $150,000-180,000 annual base (estimated; actual may vary).
