Job summary

Captivation Software is seeking a mid-level systems administrator with strong Linux experience to support our mission-critical infrastructure in the Maryland area. You will manage servers, networks, and cloud environments while integrating CI/CD practices.

The role requires Top Secret/SCI clearance and a bachelor’s in a technical field, or five years of equivalent SA experience. Direct-hire applicants only; third-party staffing is not considered.

Qualifications

• Ten (10) years of experience as a System Administrator (SA) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline is required; five (5) years of SA experience may substitute for the degree.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud environments.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Troubleshoot system issues and ensure high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize deployment strategies and resolve environment-related issues.
• Automate routine tasks using scripting and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
• Ensure system security through firewalls, antivirus tools, and access controls.
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Stay current with DevOps trends.

Requirements

Security Clearance:

• Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ten (10) years’ experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required
• Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
