Job summary

Goosehead Insurance is seeking a Systems Administrator to maintain and optimize our enterprise infrastructure, including servers, cloud services, and identity platforms. You will monitor performance, ensure security, and support DR and backup solutions to keep critical operations running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in enterprise infrastructure, expertise in Windows Server, AD, M365, Entra ID, and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), plus PowerShell automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent combo of education and experience considered
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience administering enterprise infrastructure environments
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Entra ID environments
• Experience with virtualization platforms, such as VMware vSphere or Hyper-V
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring solutions
• Troubleshooting complex infrastructure and systems issues
• PowerShell scripting and process automation preferred
• Industry certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Identity and Access Administrator, VMware VCP, Server+ or Security+ preferred

The Systems Administrator is a technical professional responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise infrastructure systems that enable secure, reliable, and efficient business operations. This role manages core technologies including servers, cloud platforms, identity services, virtualization, storage, and backup systems while ensuring system availability, performance, and security. The position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to support infrastructure initiatives and operational objectives.

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and optimization of the organization’s infrastructure environment, including servers, cloud services, virtualization platforms, identity management systems, storage, and backup solutions. This role ensures the reliability, availability, and security of critical business systems through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, automation, and ongoing system improvements. The Infrastructure Systems Administrator collaborates with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to support operational needs, technology initiatives, and business objectives while maintaining compliance with organizational standards and security requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain enterprise server, cloud, virtualization, and storage environments.

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and enterprise infrastructure technologies.
• Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Azure administration.
• Knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and Hyper-V.
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring, system performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, vulnerability management, and access controls.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
