Job summary

CFS in West Palm Beach, FL invites a Systems Administrator to join our IT team onsite. You will support, optimize, and secure a complex enterprise infrastructure, leading modernization projects and providing technical leadership across systems.

The ideal candidate has hands-on expertise in Microsoft technologies, virtualization, security, and enterprise infrastructure, with a focus on mentoring staff and driving continuous improvements in operations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressive Systems Administration experience in a mid-size to enterprise environment.
  • Strong experience administering VMware virtual environments.
  • Advanced Windows Server administration, deployment, hardening, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience managing Microsoft 365 environments (Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Defender, Purview).
  • Strong infrastructure security, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and security best practices.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management.
  • Proven ability to lead infrastructure projects and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • System Maintenance & Monitoring.
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and related hardware/software.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability.
  • Apply patches and updates regularly to maintain system security and stability.
  • Able to physical rack and stack IT equipment such as servers, PDUs, etc.
  • User Support & Administration: manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff on IT systems and tools.
  • Respond to and resolve helpdesk tickets in a timely manner.
  • Security & Compliance: implement security protocols, firewalls, and antivirus solutions; ensure data protection compliance.
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery: develop and maintain backup strategies and disaster recovery plans; test recovery procedures.
  • Office 365 and Azure administration: proficiency with admin tasks and cloud service deployment.

Overview Of The Systems Administrator Position

A growing and technology-driven organization is seeking a Systems Administrator to play a key role in supporting, optimizing, and securing a complex enterprise IT infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale modernization initiatives, lead critical infrastructure projects, and influence the future direction of the organization's technology environment.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical expert with deep experience in Microsoft technologies, virtualization, systems security, and enterprise infrastructure. This individual will serve as a seasoned resource within the IT team, providing technical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and driving continuous improvement across systems and operations.

Key Responsibilities Of The Systems Administrator
  • System Maintenance & Monitoring
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and related hardware/software.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability.

  • User Support & Administration

    • Implement and maintain security protocols, firewalls, and antivirus solutions.
    • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal policies.
    • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments.
    • Backup & Disaster Recovery
      • Develop and maintain backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.
      • Test recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  • Office 365 and Azure administration
    • Proficiency with administrative task of Office 365 and configuration.
    • Ability to deploy and maintain cloud services (servers, web applications, etc)
    • Documentation & Reporting
      • Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
      • Generate reports on system performance, incidents, and usage metrics.
Required Qualifications Of The Systems Administrator
  • 3+ years of progressive Systems Administration experience in a mid-size to enterprise environment.
  • Strong experience administering and supporting VMware virtual environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server administration, deployment, hardening, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience managing Microsoft 365 environments, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Defender, and Purview.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure security, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and security best practices.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management.
  • Proven ability to lead infrastructure projects and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications Of The Systems Administrator
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise networking concepts, including routing, switching, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Experience with endpoint security and EDR platforms such as CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or Microsoft Defender.
  • Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell or similar tools.
  • Experience supporting backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Relevant certifications such as
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
    • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
    • VMware VCP
    • Security+
    • Server+
    • MCSE (legacy)
