Job summary

SMS DATA PRODUCTS GROUP, INC. in the United States is hiring a Systems Administrator to support the AFNCR IT Services program. The role ensures stability, security, and peak performance of on-premises and cloud infrastructure in an SCIF environment.

The candidate will manage Linux and Windows servers, perform system hardening, vulnerability management, and provide Tier 2/3 support across defense teams, with DoD compliance and a TS/SCI clearance required.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• IAT Level II certification required before start (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, or CySA+).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline (equivalent experience accepted).
• 3–5 years enterprise system administration experience in a classified environment.

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) and Windows servers in multi-domain environments.
• System Hardening: Implement security controls and ensure compliance with DoD security protocols.
• Vulnerability Management: Patch and scan to remediate IAVA alerts.
• Virtualization & Cloud: Manage VMware, Citrix, or AWS environments.
• Incident Resolution: Provide Tier 2/3 support for hardware, network, and application issues.
• Identity Management: Manage Active Directory and file permissions.
• Disaster Recovery: Oversee backups and SAN configurations.
• Documentation: Write and maintain SOPs and system security plans.

SMS is hiring a Systems Administrator to support our Air Force National Capital Region (AFNCR) IT Services program. This role ensures the stability, security, and peak performance of critical, classified on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure. The candidate will serve mission users across defense and intelligence teams within a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) and Windows servers within multi-domain environments.
• System Hardening: Execute security controls, implement system configuration changes, and ensure compliance with strict DoD security protocols.
• Vulnerability Management: Monitor and remediate Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) via regular patching and scanning.
• Virtualization & Cloud: Configure and manage virtual environments using VMware, Citrix, or AWS.
• Incident Resolution: Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for complex hardware, network connectivity, and application issues.
• Identity Management: Maintain active directory infrastructure, manage user accounts, and govern file permissions.
• Disaster Recovery: Oversee routine system backups, storage area network (SAN) configurations, and data recovery operations.
• Team Collaboration: Author and update technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and system security plans.

Required Qualifications

• Security Clearance: Must possess an active, transferable U.S. Government TS/SCI clearance.
• DoD 8570 Compliance: Active IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, or CySA+) is mandatory prior to start.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (equivalent experience may be substituted).
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of enterprise system administration experience within a classified environment.

Salary Range

- $95.000 - $105,000
