Description

Leidos is seeking a System Administrator in Fort Belvoir, VA to support large-scale migration and operations on a high-profile DOD contract. The I3TS program provides enterprise-wide IT support to enable DTRA’s Information Management & Technology Directorate (ITD) to modernize and innovate IT services and mission capabilities for internal and external partners in CONUS and OCONUS locations.

The System Admin intermediate will be responsible for installations, configurations, administration, support, and maintenance of systems, including hardware. Duties include managing system infrastructures, implementing best practices, configuring physical and virtual systems, and performing backup and recovery. Support duties also involve tuning performance, managing storage, applying patches, reviewing logs, and troubleshooting issues.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide input on budget and resource allocation.
• Assist in hiring processes for various labor categories.
• Develop technical teams as needed.
• Coordinate with PMO and Tier levels; troubleshoot using VMware Horizon View, vSphere, VDI.
• Work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Lead onboarding and setup of new enclaves and compute environments.
• Interact with users and evaluate vendor products.
• Recommend hardware/software purchases, coordinate installations, and support backup recovery.
• Develop and monitor policies for resource allocation.
• Create and maintain documentation and SOPs.
• Apply security settings and adhere to best practices like DISA STIGS.

Basic Qualifications:

• BS with 4–8 years of relevant experience or Master’s with 2–6 years; relevant experience may substitute for degree.
• Experience managing and supervising employees in complex IT infrastructure, preferably for the US Government.
• Extensive experience with VMware virtual environments.
• Shell scripting (bash) and experience with Perl, Python, Java.
• Experience applying security settings and best practices such as DISA STIGS.
• Experience with IDS/IPS systems like FireEye and McAfee.
• Experience with SIEM systems.
• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.
• DoD 8750 certification at least IAT level II (e.g., Security+).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive VMware experience.
• Shell scripting and programming skills.
• Experience with security best practices and IDS/IPS systems.
• Experience with SIEM tools like Splunk.
• Active Secret clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret.
• DoD 8750 IAT level II certification or higher.
• ITIL certification.
