The role focuses on VMware ESXi virtualization, Veeam data protection, and Microsoft Active Directory environments, with an emphasis on cybersecurity hardening and data recovery. We require at least 2 years in a Systems Administration or Network Engineering role, with strong PowerShell scripting and a security-first mindset.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Virtualization: VMware ESXi/vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter management.
• Data Protection: Veeam Backup & Replication with immutable backups.
• Identity: Active Directory, GPOs, and Azure AD/Entra ID management.
• Automation: Write and maintain PowerShell scripts.
• Security: Implement cybersecurity best practices, patching, and vulnerability management.
• Networking: Basic TCP/IP, DNS, and virtual networking knowledge.
• Documentation: Document technical processes and explain issues to stakeholders.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

Ludlum Measurements, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Systems Administrator to manage our core IT infrastructure in Sweetwater, TX. In this role, you will be the primary expert for our VMware ESXi virtualization, Veeam data protection, and Microsoft Active Directory environments, with a specific focus on cybersecurity hardening and data recovery.

We are seeking a candidate with at least 2 years of experience in a Systems Administration or Network Engineering role. You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, managing backups, and securing our identity services against modern threats like ransomware and unauthorized access.

If you have strong experience with PowerShell scripting, a "security-first" mindset, and the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, we want to hear from you.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Virtualization: Experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
• Data Protection: Proficiency with Veeam Backup & Replication, specifically immutable backups.
• Identity: Solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy (GPOs), and Azure AD/Entra ID.
• Automation: Ability to write and maintain scripts using PowerShell.
• Security: Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, patching, and vulnerability management.
• Networking: Fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, and virtual networking.
• Communication: Ability to document technical processes and explain issues to stakeholders.
